Welcome from our Headteacher

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is a pleasure to welcome you to our website as the Headteacher at Lulworth and Winfrith CE Primary School. Understandably, schools are always busy places but here at Lulworth and Winfrith you will always find happy children with smiling faces and this positive and productive atmosphere is an integral part of the school’s character.

As a parent, and teacher, I have always valued the importance of a broad and balanced approach towards children’s learning experiences. At Lulworth and Winfrith Primary we aim to provide the highest standards of teaching and learning for all of our children to enable each individual to excel in their education, within a caring and positive environment driven by a strong Christian ethos.

Our latest Ofsted report made the following comments:

  • Pupils enjoy coming to school. They conduct themselves well and show respect for each other.
  • Pupils who have moved from key stage 1 to key stage 2 are maintaining these standards and making strong progress from their different starting points.
  • The curriculum is broad and provides an interesting range of learning activities to deepen pupils’ knowledge and understanding.
  • The early years is good. The children make good progress and are well prepared for the next stage in their learning.

As part of our distinctive Christian character the school has developed the core values of belief, fellowship and harmony and these underpin all the work we do. Through these values we believe that your child will grow as an individual morally, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

The aim of this website is for you, as a parent or prospective parent, to be able to get more detailed information about the school, its ethos and the high expectations that we have in all areas of school life. If you are looking at this website to see if this is the right place for your child then please contact the school to arrange a visit, where you can meet the wonderful children and staff.

Kind regards,

Mr Richard Skinner
